Shiavo Senate Memo Author

Hattip to Captain Ed.

Well, It did come from a republican, but not a senator.

The legal counsel to Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) admitted yesterday that he was the author of a memo citing the political advantage to Republicans of intervening in the case of Terri Schiavo, the senator said in an interview last night.
Of course, the senator then handed it to a democrat, Tom Harkin. He states that he never even read the memo. Now just how brain dead do you have to be to do that?

Well, hopefully this will quell some of the noise from the tin foil beany crowd. But I'm sure the Democratic Underground will be trumpeting this as a success of some sort, or even a cover up of the truth. Look Ma, a new conspiracy about to hatch!

The web has done such wonderful things for speeding the spread of information, but then it has also done so much for the spreading of stupidity as well.

This one has been a yawner from day one. The repugs were morons for violating the constitution and jumping into the middle of a family issue that had been well adjudicated by numerous courts prior to the idiots in congress getting involved. The memo was just a cherry on top of the ice stupid sundae.

"Well Ajudicated" is putting it kindly. It was a total abuse of the judicial system. Talk about shopping for the right answer.

As for the memo, I agree about the WGAF relationship to this one. This is more in the category of "why is it taking so long to get the truth." Why didn't Harkin say where he got the memo? Why didn't the senator who started it say anything?

I love when you mix "secret source" journalism with politics. You can never get to the truth. I will also conjecture that this mix also sets you up for not being able to get the answer.

I love politics. That and banging my head against the wall.
