Not sure I have much to say on this one. Other than "Who Cares?"
Let's keep this simple. They are being killed because they did something especially abhorrent. Rope, Axe, Guillotine, Electric Chair, Gas Chamber. I'm guessing none of these were especially pleasant, but the point is to kill them, not make them feel good.

Well then, I guess I need to reconsider my stance.
Maybe it's OK to use lethal injections instead of hanging.
