This column is actually a pretty good list of movies that will be a waste of time.
You can read about the other films. The descriptions are pretty telling.
Slow to awaken after the 9/11 attacks, Hollywood has finally come around to contributing what it can in the War on Terror: namely, glossy, star-studded movies that sympathize with the enemy.I especially liked the description of "V for Vendetta."
"V For Vendetta." From Warner Brothers and the creators of "The Matrix" comes this film about a futuristic Great Britain that's become a 'fascist state.' A masked 'freedom fighter' named V uses terror tactics (including bombing the London Underground) to undermine the government - leading to a climax in which the British Parliament is blown up. Natalie Portman stars as a skinhead who turns to 'the revolution' after doing time as a Guantanamo-style prisoner.Guantanamo-style prisoner? That is just hilarious. First, I couldn't find any reference to any women detainees at GITMO. Next, I don't know of any detainees being subjects of medical experiments, which is what happens in the comic book. I suppose I'll just skip this one. I don't see how they can do this movie when you never saw who V was until the very end. Anything else would just be a disappointment. I have a sad feeling that this will be a very poor representation of a very good story.

Oh barf... I never thought V would make that good a movie anyway, but this sounds like utter dreck. V was about fascism, real fascism, taking over Britain. Not the kind of fascism that thinks that if someone shoots at you or plans to blow you up, maybe isolating them and treating them to less than Club Med to see what they know about other people planning to shoot you and blow you up is a good idea. Not that kind, but the real, put everyone, EVERYONE, that so much as disagrees with you into concentration camps where they can be used for insane medical experimentation and extermination. That kind of fascism. I don't think the people on the left can tell the difference, despite not being in a concentration camp, their first, and biggest clue.
