Anyone Else Tired of Dean?

Been listening to this rubbish for a few days now.

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, unapologetic in the face of recent criticism that he has been too tough on his political opposition, said in San Francisco this week that Republicans are "a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."

"The Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people," Dean said Monday, responding to a question about diversity during a forum with minority leaders and journalists. "We're more welcoming to different folks, because that's the type of people we are. But that's not enough. We do have to deliver on things: jobs and housing and business opportunities."

The problem comes to that Dean is like a bad driver. You have to keep watching because you really do want to see the wreck.

I haven't seen much commentary on why his statements are a waste of time. Personally I think they are. If he's the grand grass-roots organizer, then why is he working up just the extreme party faithful. It's not like they won't contribute or not vote for the democrat who runs. Wouldn't it serve him and the party better to work on at least appearing more moderate and civilized? The people that voted Bush into office weren't the extreme right, it was the moderates of both parties and the independents.

I find it amusing that democratic politicians in many cases are distancing themselves from his remarks. The article states some names, and some that still are "thrilled" that he is the DNC chairman.
