Mileage Tax in Oregon?

This is very scary, both from a financial and a privacy perspective.

Well this goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished. You'd think that they would be giving tax breaks to hybrid car users instead of putting on more taxes.

I find it unlikely the GPS system will be allowed. I'm betting that that intrusion will be challenged so vigorously that they won't have it in the legislation in the end.

But that doesn't mean much in the end. Many new cell phones now have GPS built in. It's a "saftey" feature. Or from the paranoid side, it's a new way to track people. [http://www.nbc5.com/news/4442888/detail.html?z=dp&dpswid=2265994&dppid=65172]
