America, the Evil Suppressor of all things Muslim

Once again, more tidbits from reality that should be all over the MSM but sadly aren't. This gives a little sense of proportion to the flushing of the Quran story.

I'm finding myself more and more infuriated these days about the stuff that gets blown out of proportion and reason, and the details that are ignored.

I just heard on FoxNews that Al-Sadr is calling on Muslims to bring US flags to mosques and step on them! Hmmm... we will see the right-wing fundies taking to the streets here in America and stoning each other in protest riots? No doubt the MSM will be similarly outraged about that treatment of a sacred symbol... or not.

Another good one. I love when context is provided on a topic.

The constant burning of the american flag on the news must have hardened all Americans to desecration of their national symbols. This is even funnier when it is apperently okee dokee to desecrate any religious symbol in the US, but god forbid a soldier do it to anger a islamic terrorist prisoner. And there still doesn't appear to be any real proof that that ever happened.

QandO has had some discussions on the topic that I thought were well thought out. Mostly it comes down to that the Koran is just a book, so don't kill yourselves over it. One especially witty commentor stated that friday he would be burning copies of the Koran in his backyard while draped in the israeli flag. He then told the religious idiots to go out and kill each other over it.

Hey, you know, as far as I'm concerned they can wipe their nether regions with the flag, just stop killing us and each other. Otherwise, we will slap them up and down the block as needed and not because they stepped on a piece of cloth.

It is kind of amazing listening to the absolutely breathless reports on NPR about "mishandling" of the Koran. These are the same people that felt that defending Maplethorpe to the death was the duty of every human being on the planet. It just seems a bit schizo to me.
