Nice little commentary about the forms that you have to fill out just to get the NICS check started. To the point, if you've ever done this, you know it's far from something that one goes through lightly.

Having filled it out a number of times, you find yourself reading it carefully every time. Some of the questions could mislead if you weren't focused. Since it's a federal document, filling it out incorrectly can be construed as a crime.
