Been seeing a bunch of this babble about. I linked a German news organ because it actually had the most reasonable article on the subject.
There have been a lot of these floating around and most are utter nonsense. Everything from Americana Mindless and World Socialist Web Site to the revisionists like Col. David Hackworth (names rather appropriate). All of them seem to have this thing on comparing the Abu Ghraib incident with the atrocities of Nazi Germany.
Most of these article make it out that Rumsfeld won't be going to the German Security Conference because he could be charged with war crimes in Germany. But I keep having this little bell ring in my head that more likely he's not going to prevent any embarrassing incidents that would be certain to occur. Also, wouldn't Rumsfeld be traveling under diplomatic protections if he went to this conference?
Well, last I saw the German prosecutor hasn't made up their mind on what to do, not that they really want to step into a diplomatic controversy with one of their biggest cash cows, the US military.
