Isn't This Bribery?

I'm sorry, but isn't this just bribery, pure and simple? Can someone explain to me why this is a good idea, and why I should feel comfortable with it?

Governor Deval Patrick, in a significant departure from former governor Mitt Romney, is contemplating a deal with Democratic legislative leaders that would grant significant pay raises to their top lieutenants in return for their support in implementing his plans for sweeping government changes, according to sources involved in the discussions.
Sigh. It's going to be a long 4 years.

To me it sounds like bribery, but I'm sure that there is some politically-correct liberal term used to describe it instead of the word "bribery"; that word only applies to conservatives...

Oh you must be taking it out of context or someone along the way is. The Dems NEVER do anything unethical. Well, as long as they get to define what is ethical for them. Repubs think Foley was unethical in his actions, but Studs taking a teen out of the country for some foreign buggery was just fine with the Dems. Hell, he got re-elected how many times?
