UN Human Rights Council: New Name - Still Worthless

Need proof of that contention, here it is:

The Council also agreed to set up a commission to investigate "systematic targeting and killing" of Lebanese civilians by Israel.

The United Nations new Human Rights Council on Friday voted by a big majority to condemn Israel for its current military assault in Lebanon and for"massive violations of human rights" there.

Approving a resolution from countries of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League, the Council also agreed to set up a commission to investigate "systematic targeting and killing" of Lebanese civilians by Israel.

A total of 27 members -- including Russia, China, India and Latin American states on the new 47-nation Council -- voted for the text while 11 -- seven European Union members, Canada, Japan, Romania and Ukraine -- voted no. Eight others -- including Switzerland, South Korea, Nigeria and Philippines -- abstained.

Note the complete lack of even a remote attachment to reality. Let's not condemn Hezbollah for hiding behind civilians and launching attacks. Let's just say it's all Israel's fault. I'm especially entertained by the sheer hypocrisy of Russia when you consider how they acted in Chechnya.

Well, at least those that voted no were quite telling. I'm a bit surprised that the EU members were so unified against this. Good for them.

And the OIC members are truly emulative. No surprises that they would condemn Israel.
