  • WHAT: Committee on House Administration Markup
  • TOPIC: Online Freedom of Speech Act (H.R. 1606)
  • WHERE: 1310 Longworth House Office Building
  • TIME: 10 a.m.

The markup will be available via live webcast on the committee website: cha.house.gov.

Considering that this bill was defeated by a VERY partisan vote last time, I'll be surprised at what the outcome is.
Last time:

Official Title: To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to exclude communications over the Internet from the definition of public communication.

Status:
Failed House (82% of Republicans supporting, 76% of Democrats opposing.)
By failing to be passed in the House, this bill or resolution is now dead.
Introduced:Apr 13, 2005
Last Action:Nov 2, 2005: On motion to suspend the rules and pass the bill Failed by the Yeas and Nays: (2/3 required): 225 - 182 (Roll no. 559).

I wonder why the Democrats are so very very opposed to this.
