Polls and Reality

I really hate polls like this. They don't specify what the question that was asked actually was and they always fail to ask the question with a variance in the modifiers. What would be the response if you add in a variable about instability in the region. Or an increase in terrorism. Both of which are likely variable should we leave Iraq prematurely.
Most adults in the United States believe their country’s participation in the coalition effort should come to an end soon or over the next 12 months, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 28 per cent of respondents support bringing home all soldiers from Iraq immediately.

In addition, 26 per cent of respondents support a withdrawal over the next year, and 32 per cent believe all troops should stay in Iraq until the mission is finished.

Frankly, I don't think the citizenry is responsible enough, nor educated enough on the topic to make the decision on when withdrawal should occur. Most have some visceral reaction due to military deaths, some just have BDS and want to bug out irrespective of the consequences. Polling those who haven't a clue doesn't make the action right.
